PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for deaerating the gas generated and stagnated in supply pipes by anaerobic fermentation of sludge cake and feeding the sludge cake into an incineration furnace. SOLUTION: Three-way valves 12, 12, 21, and 22 which are apparatus valves and pressure gauges are interposed into the respective supply pipes 5 and 6 formed of two pieces a set, and nozzles 16a, 16b, 26a, and 26b for feeding a sludge cake are respectively attached thereto to form two systems of supply lines. First and second return pipes 35 and 36 are respectively connected toward a sludge storage tank 1 from the upstream side of the three-way valves in the respective supply lines. The apparatus is provided with a control section 40 for performing control in such a manner that the three-way valves are switched to integrate the supply lines to one system when the pressure in the supply pipes of the line exceeds the prescribed value as a result of the anaerobic fermentation of the sludge cake in feeding the sludge cake by the first and second supply lines and that the sludge cake in the supply pipes is returned into the sludge storage tank from the return pipe connected to the second or the first supply line and is subjected to open deaeration.
