PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the recording head of an ink jet printer in which the yield is increased by taking a measure for making such a parameter, among the quality parameters of a head, as conventionally indicating a characteristic value of NG acceptable if it can be corrected at the image processing part. SOLUTION: A nonvolatile memory (EEPROM) 106 is mounted at the head part 105 of an ink jet printer and the head properties are stored in that memory so that an image control unit (control board) 101 incorporated in a printer or a host driver unit 103 on the PC side can read out and correct that information.
