PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot-welding method with which a material to be welded is interposed between a table and a welding chip under a state of laying the material to be welded on the table and pressurized from the upper part with the welding chip and energized to preform the spot-welding. SOLUTION: The material W to be spot-welded is laid on the table 31 and a spot-gun main body 21 fitting the welding chip 25 through a shank 24 and supported so as to be freely rotated with a rotating shaft 22 is used in the side-wise posture to the material W. Then, the spot-gun main body 21 is rotated with the rotating shaft 22 as the center to rotate the welding chip 25 toward the table 31, and the material W is pressurized and energized to perform the spot-welding.
