PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plaster mold used in a method for manufacturing a metallic mold for vulcanizing a tire with which the plaster mold developing no crack around a sipe when the metallic mold is cast, can be easily and quickly manufactured without applying boring and a grooving-work around a siping material. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the plaster mold body 11 includes a step for disposing the siping material 12 or 13 at a prescribed position in advance in a rubber mold (not shown in figure) formed as a shape corresponding to the metallic mold for vulcanizing the tire and a step for arranging or applying parting agent Q composed of a solid evaporated at a fixed temperature or liquid on the surface and the surroundings of this siping material 12. After pouring and hardening the plaster into the rubber mold with the parting agent Q applied, the plaster pattern body 11 embedding the siping material 12 or 13 is separated from the mold. The parting agent Q is vaporized with drying heat by drying the plaster mold body 11 with the heat at a maximum temperature of 250°C in a plaster drying process, and in the surroundings of the siping material 12 or 13 in the plaster mold body 11 after drying, a gap X which can absorb the volume change of thermal expansion in the siping material caused by the heat at casting of an aluminum alloy thereafter, is automatically formed.
