PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic valve system for tunnels which can reduce height size while achieving normal operation of automatic drain valves. SOLUTION: In the automatic valve system for tunnels provided with an automatic valve (10) which has a pressure adjusting mechanism and is installed in a tunnel, a test water control value (11) for stopping the supply of pressurized fire extinguishing water to the side of a water spray head at each test, a test discharge valve (15) for making the fire extinguishing water flow to a test passage and the automatic drain valve (16) which is installed vertical to a road surface and opened normally or closed at each test. The automatic valve (10) is placed sideways to make the inflow or the outflow of the pressurized water almost parallel with the road surface relative to the automatic valve while the test discharge valve (15) is built as a three-way valve and disposed at a branch off point to the water drain path from the test passage and the automatic drain valve (16) is directly mounted vertically.
