PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an organic acid at high production rate and in high yield relative to a raw material saccharide using aerobic bacteria. SOLUTION: The method for producing the organic acid by reaction of aerobic bacterial cells comprises culturing the aerobic bacteria at≥10.5 wt.% but <25 wt.% in the maximum concentration of the raw material saccharide in the culture liquid.
