PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medium and provide a method for specifically detecting E.coli in various samples which are feces and the like in a good selectivity. SOLUTION: The selective medium for isolating E.coli contains a selective agent for suppressing growth of bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas without suppressing growth of E.coli.
