PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cleaning a metallic filtration membrane which can rapidly and efficiently clean the metallic filtration membrane having degraded filtration performance in order to efficiently operate a filtering device using the metallic membrane. SOLUTION: Steam is used in cleaning the metallic filtration membrane having the degraded filtration performance in the operation of the filtering device comprising compartmentalizing the interior of its housing to a stock solution side and a permeate side by the metallic filtration membrane.
