PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold enhanced in durability. SOLUTION: This mold is used for molding an ultraviolet curable resin on an optical fiber and equipped with a lower base platen 10 having a first mold groove 12 formed thereto and an upper base platen 20 having a second mold groove 22 for constituting a hole for arranging the optical fiber along with the first mold groove 12 when mated with the lower base platen 10. The surface layers 15 of the lower base platen provided on both sides of the first mold groove 12 comprises quartz glass for suppressing the transmission of ultraviolet rays and the surface layers 25 of the upper base platen provided on both sides of the second mold groove 22 comprises quartz glass for suppressing the transmission of ultraviolet rays.
