PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lifting cord pull-in type Roman shade suitable for use in ordinary households which is made washable by taking a lifting cord off together with the curtain fabric from a hanging rod while no extra time and labor is required for changing it on the hanging rod. SOLUTION: In the Roman shade, lifting guides 13 are mounted in the width- wise direction and in the height-wise direction of the curtain fabric suspended on the hanging rod 11 at specified intervals. The lower end of a lifting cord 14 running through the lifting guides 13 aligned in the height-wise direction is joined on the lower rim of the curtain fabric 12 and the tip of the lifting cord is pulled out via an upper rim part guide 16 mounted on the upper rim part of the curtain fabric and a stopper 17 installed at the end part of the hanging rod and the lifting cord hanging down from the stopper is pulled out to open or close it. A retaining means 18 for retaining the curtain fabric on the hanging rod and the stopper are joined on the upper rim part of the curtain fabric while a retaining means 19 for retaining on the hanging rod is attached to the stopper 17.
