PURPOSE: An electric locomotive is provided to reduce an energy consumption and prevent an atmospheric contamination, while ensuring a sufficient amount of electrical energy. CONSTITUTION: An electric locomotive comprises an operating lever unit including the first lever(52) and the second lever connected to both ends of motion levers of a motion lever unit and mounted on a support in such a manner that the first and second levers are rotatable; a start unit including the first start motor group(62) and the second start motor group(64) connected to both ends of the operating lever unit through wires; a fundamental energy generator(102) electrically connected to a generator(46) of an amplifying generating unit and connected to an operating switch for charging an electrical energy or supply of power for an initial start; and a drive unit(108) electrically connected to the generator of the amplifying generating unit, and which transmits a power to locomotive wheels.
