PURPOSE: Provided are a microorganism Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP) which has the cellulose synthesis-inhibiting activity, and a microbial herbicide using the same. CONSTITUTION: A microorganism Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP) having the cellulose synthesis-inhibiting activity is provided, wherein Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP) is isolated from the soil. A medium composition for producing a cellulose synthesis-inhibiting material contains Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP) or the cultured medium thereof. A microbial herbicide contains a dried powder type of the Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP) cultured medium or sangivamycin as an effective component, wherein sangivamycin is isolated from Streptomyces sp. A6497 (KCTC 10144BP).
