PURPOSE: A voice guide system for car navigation system and a method for the same are provided to prevent previously a traffic accident by providing various warning data and guide data. CONSTITUTION: A voice guide system for car navigation system includes a GPS reception portion(11), a map data storage portion(13), a key input portion(15), a control portion(17), and a voice synthesis portion(19). The GPS reception portion(11) receives radio waves from the outside and outputs the present position information. The map data storage portion(13) includes a menu setup database(13a), a road map database(13b), a guide database(13c), and a dangerous region database(13d). The key input portion(15) receives various control commands. The control portion(17) searches regions of the road map database on the basis of the present position information and outputting guide data and warning data of the guide database and the dangerous region database. The voice synthesis portion(19) synthesizes the guide data and the warning data and outputs the synthesized voice data to a speaker(21).
