A hot gas engine with open or closed circuit, in which compression and expansion take place in separate rotary piston rotors, its energy relating by means of a nearly isobaric through flow of a heat exchanger WT of a heating plant or by means of solar energy. For this purpose the 2:1 circular piston principle of Ockham-Franchot is particularly well suited. The width of the expander, equal in cross-section to the compressor, behaves maximally as the absolute temperature in the heat exchanger output to the absolute temperature in the heat exchanger input, designated as "T5/T2" in the specification. In expansion, the piston surfaces behave maximally as T5/T2. This gives a light and easily constructed hot gas engine, in which high rpms are attainable, and which is easily controllable in contrast to a Stirling engine.<IMAGE> |
