<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an information processing system in which time is set either by using an inner timer as power supply or by using an external time supply device as power supply, that when each setting is performed separately, a setting interface or a circuit configuration in the system is complicated. <P>SOLUTION: A processor 1 transmits time data to a diagnosis control device 2 and requests the diagnosis control device 2 for setting. A firmware 21 provided on the diagnosis control device 2 receiving the request sets the received time data in a time control part 22 if a time synchronizer 3 has a value '0' for logical multiplication of Enable and Valid conditions. If the logical multiplication is '1', the time control part 22 receives time data from the time synchronizer 3 via a selector 23, and therefore ignores the time setting request from the processor 1. The time control part 22 starts time measurement using a clock from an oscillator 27. When the time synchronizer is connected, time data are also transmitted in a fixed time interval to secure accuracy of time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
