PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder structure having a high degree of adhesion at a mating surface between a cylinder block and a cylinder head and eliminating the need for machining the mating surface and for a head gasket. SOLUTION: After the cylinder block and the cylinder head are formed integrally with each other, both of them are broken off and split into a cylinder block portion 1 and a cylinder head portion 2 having engageable breakage surfaces. The breakage surfaces are put in engagement with each other again and the cylinder block portion 1 and the cylinder head portion 2 are joined to form a cylinder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
