<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of display image quality by making occurring of short-circuit defect few even when an organic light emitting element display is driven for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of power ON of a display, or the time of a display- action start, regular voltage is impressed to a first row of negative electrode by a scanning side drive circuit 5 according to a command from a timing circuit 11. Simultaneously, current value supplied to the scanning side drive circuit 5 is measured by an electric current measurement circuit 8, and a judgment circuit 9 judges whether the measurement value is beyond the current value that is judged to be usual current value, or not. When it is judged to be short- circuit current, a restoration voltage circuit 10 is operated at the succeeding timing, and restoration voltage is impressed to correspond row of the negative electrode. After restoration voltage impression, or at the succeeding timing judged that it is not short-circuit current, the regular voltage is impressed to the 2nd row of negative electrode, and henceforth the same operation as the above is repeated about every rows of the negative electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
