<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit which prevents an information unrecordable area from being formed or recording information from being lost and easily read and write data out of and to a recording tape cartridge in a short time by preventing a recording tape from having what is called a tape reflection. <P>SOLUTION: The drive unit winds two magnetic tapes around one reel which is fitted with two spiral springs 30A and 30B. When the magnetic tapes T1 and T2 are wound around the reel, the spiral springs 30A and 30B cover storage recessed parts 32A and 32B where leader pins 40A and 40B are stored with the magnetic tapes T1 and T2. Consequently, the storage recessed parts 32A and 32B can prevent the magnetic tapes from having a reflection and the time needed to read and write data is shortened almost to a half. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
