PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket, which has high size stability and certain contact of a contact point, especially the socket for halogen high-voltage lamps. SOLUTION: The lamp socket 10 includes a socket block 11 which consists of electrical contacts and ceramic or porcelain and is used for accommodating a lamp base, a cover 12 which closes the socket block 11 on a conductor connection side generally excepting a conductor insertion opening 17, and a holding spring of almost U-form that acts on the lamp base. This holding spring is locked into the socket block 11 by a locking piece of a holding shape on one side, and on the other side, holds the cover 12 to the socket block 11. The lamp socket 10 has the following features. The cover 12 has an accommodation room at least for a part of the contact point 31, and is a mold component, which has very stable size and consists of thermoplastic synthetic substance such as PPS or LCP, which resists high temperature.
