PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination meter 1 having novel appearance while improving the visibility of a pointer 4 by providing a transparent outer circumferential ring 3 on the outer circumferential side of a dial plate 2, and interlocking it with rotation of the pointer 4 to locally emit light. SOLUTION: The outer circumferential ring 3 comprising transparent material is coaxially disposed on the outer circumferential side of the dial plate 2. The pointer 4 of light conductive material as a selective light emitting means, and a light emitting diode 5 as a first light source are provided. Light from the light emitting diode 5 is inputted from the tip of the pointer 4 to the outer circumferential ring 3. The pointer 4, and a part of the outer circumferential ring 3 at a part of a light emitting surface 3c diametrically extended from the pointer 4 are thus set to emit light. Similar visibility to the pointer 4 of extended length to reach the outer circumferential ring 3 on the outer diameter side of the dial plate 2 can be obtained. The combination meter 1 with improved visibility of speed instructions to a driver while achieving novel appearance can thus be provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
