PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of surely selecting a digital broadcasting station even if bands of an analog broadcast radio wave and a digital broadcast radio wave coexist in close proximity. SOLUTION: This receiver is provided with a high frequency amplifier circuit and an intermediate frequency amplifier circuit which can freely adjust the gain. When a reception signal of a digital broadcast is not synchronized in spite of enough a reception level, a strong input from an analog broadcast radio wave is reduced in the high frequency amplifier circuit while keeping the reception level constant by decreasing the gain of the high frequency amplifier circuit and increasing the gain of the intermediate frequency amplifier circuit.
