PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment mapping circuit for rendering a peripheral video to a specular reflection face for expressing picture quality equivalent to a ray-tracing method by realizing multi-order specular reflection with a hardware circuit based on a polygon rendering method. SOLUTION: In a multi-order reflection environment mapping circuit where a line of sight vector is reflected on a specular reflection object and the reflection vector is reflected on another specular reflection object repeatedly, the environment projector of the specular reflection object is stored with not only the colors of peripheral objects surrounding it but also its normal, reflectivity, and identifier. The color, normal, flag, reflectivity, and environment projector identifier stored in the environment projector are read by the line of sight vector. In the case of the specular reflection object, the color, normal, and reflectivity are discriminated and filtered, and in the case of a non-specular reflection object, the read color and the color of the reflecting object are combined with each other by using the reflectivity so that multi-order environment mapping can be carried out.
