<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system contributing to improvement in efficiency of data processing accompanied by memory access. <P>SOLUTION: This memory system is provided with a rewritable nonvolatile memory 2, a buffer memory 5, and a controller 4. In response to an access demand from an external device, the controller controls first data transfer between the controller and the external device, second data transfer between the controller and the nonvolatile memory, and third data transfer between the controller and the buffer memory. The controller controls transfer from the controller to the buffer memory and transfer from the buffer memory to the controller in the third data transfer by time sharing control, and the first data transfer or the second data transfer can be carried out in parallel to the transfer based on the time sharing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
