PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice input device for vehicle which securely prevents on-vehicle equipment such as a radio from malfunctioning by reducing the influence of noise such as travel noise and passenger's spoken words as much as possible by detecting passenger's voice input intention with a voice input intention detecting means and allowing voice input only when the intention is detected and which also prevents the on-vehicle equipment from malfunctioning owing to passenger's accidental behavior similar to an action in the voice input by detecting genuine passenger's voice input intention. SOLUTION: A voice input device 1 equipped with a microphone 5 is made wearable on the body of a passenger. Voice input to the microphone 5 can be inputted to a voice recognition device. The voice input device is provided with voice input intention detecting means 6 and 7 for the passenger M. A voice from the microphone 5 can be inputted through a specified detecting operation of the detecting means 6 and 7 capable of detecting specified changes of the body of the passenger M through the detecting means 6 and 7.
