PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily replacing a control unit of a combustion equipment, in which selective parameters received from an outside communication equipment during manufacture are stored and an operating condition is chosen according to the selective parameters. SOLUTION: A CPU 2 is adapted to select an operating condition for the combustion equipment according to the selective parameters (sp) stored in an E<SP>2</SP>PROM 4 when a dip switch 9 is not installed and to select an operating condition for the combustion equipment according to the selective parameters (sp) set by the dip switch 9 when the dip switch 9 is installed. In manufacture of the combustion equipment, the control unit 1a with no dip switch is incorporated in the combustion equipment, and the selective parameters (sp) are received from the communication equipment 5. When the control units 1 are to be changed, the old control unit 1a is replaced with the new control unit 1b having the dip switch 9, and the selective parameters (sp) are set by the dip switch 9.
