<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive device which materializes a function for supplying electric power from an auxiliary battery to the main power source at a low cost when a charged state of the main power source is lowered at system startup. <P>SOLUTION: When the charged state of the main power source is lowered at system startup, relays 9 and 10 are closed and an auxiliary battery 8 is connected to the neutral point and node N2 of an auxiliary motor 6. In an auxiliary system inverter 5, switching transistors 51a-51c of the lower arm are activated on the basis of a command from a control circuit 11. By employing a coil of the auxiliary motor 6 as a reactor, a voltage output from the auxiliary battery 8 is stepped up and output to the main power source 1 to charge. At this time, a drive system inverter 3 and a DC/DC converter 7 are stopped. When the charged state of the main power source 1 becomes sufficient, relays 9 and 10 are opened to drive respective loads. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
