PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus which are improved for an NQR test. SOLUTION: The NQR testing method which enables the test of a sample having at least one NQR characteristic to be changed together with a given environmental parameter is composed of a method which enables the sample to be excited so as to energize NQR resonance and an NQR response signal to be detected. The sample is excited in such a way that the NQR resonance signal detectable in a detection step is energized in a predetermined range of the environmental parameter. The method and the apparatus for testing the NQR enable the test of the existence of a nucleus selected in the sample (especially a nucleus in an integral spin quantum number such as<SP>14</SP>N).
