Welding of a pile of sheets (10, 15), at least one of which is coated on at least one surface (12, 16), consists of: (a) piling the sheets without any play; (b) displacing a support arm (23), carrying a preheating head (20), a heating head (21) and a laser source (22); (c) feeding the preheating head from the laser source to free a non-coated zone by local vaporization and evacuation of the vapors formed; (d) feeding the heating head from the laser source to weld the pile of sheets by local fusion of each sheet in a welding zone (46) completely within the non-coated zone. The third and fourth stages are realized successively in parallel with the second stage. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the welding of a pile of sheets, at least one of which has at least one surface covered with a metal coating. |
