<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to restrict the electric power consumption of a computer by a resume feature while work is interrupted, and to extend drive time of a battery for a portable information terminal or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A computer system with a built-in camera is comprised of: a camera means 1 that is installed adjacent to or incorporated in a computer means 2 composed of a memory, an image display unit, a peripheral circuit, a power source unit and the like and takes a picture of a subject; an image processing means 3 that processes the subject image inputted from the camera means 1 to detect the presence or absence of an operator of the computer means; a backup means 2j that is included in the computer means 2 and holds the content of a RAM or the like of the memory part even when the power source is shut down; and a power source control means 4 that controls the power source unit of the computer means 2 and the backup means 2j according to the detection result obtained from the image processing means 3, thus achieving the resume feature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
