<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor electrode having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency with the use of styryl series organic dye sensitizer of a specific structure. <P>SOLUTION: This is the semiconductor electrode adsorbing at least one kind of monomethine styryl dye selected among compounds represented at least by a formula (1).
