PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply specify distance where a user wants to know and simply recognize the specified distance without diligently monitoring meters. SOLUTION: Distance desired by the user is specified by remote control 3, and when the desired distance is specified, the running distance of a following vehicle is detected based on the number of car speed pulses from a car speed sensor 1, and when the running distance reached the specified distance, this fact is notified from a display device 9 or a speaker 11. A CPU 5 calculates the remaining distance to the specified distance based on the specified distance and the running distance of the vehicle after the distance is specified, and successively notifies calculated results. Therefore, the remaining distance to the specified distance in running, or reach of the running distance to the specified distance can be recognized without seeing a trip meter or the like, by only specifying desired distance without conducting complicated operation such as setting of a target place using map data or route search.
