<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use red, green, and blue light sources to improve the color purity without degrading the utilization efficiency of light. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to a light emitting device provided with three kinds of light sources 1a, 1b, and 1c for emitting red, green, and blue light respectively and a color filter 5 which transmits red, green, and blue light, the color filter 5 has a wavelength area, of which the total transmittance characteristic is smaller than an average value of total transmittance characteristics in the wavelength area of 400 to 700 nm, between the wavelength giving green and that giving blue and between the wavelength giving green and that giving red. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
