PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor in which silent and precision revolution is assured, rigid alignment of a shaft is assured with less number of components or a simple structure, and high impact-resistance and reduction in thickness are realized. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft 30 engages with a bearing 60 through a flange 33 to prevent it from coming off, and the shaft 30 is axially aligned. The bearing 60 engages with a step part 93 of a housing 90 so that the bearing 60 is regulated from shifting to an open end side of the housing 90. Since even shifting of the bearing 60 is regulated, the shaft 30 is surely and rigidly aligned in the axial direction, resulting in very high impact resistance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
