PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electric equipment that has constitution which can be manufactured at low cost while selectively receiving only one of remote control signals of different kinds of remote control transmitters. SOLUTION: The electric equipment has a remote control signal reception part 23 receiving the remote control signals which are sent from the remote control transmitters 20 to 22 respectively and have different formats, a memory part 24 which stores information regarding the formats of the remote control signals sent from the remote control transmitters 20 to 22, and a control part 19 having a function of determining the format of a remote control signal received for the 1st time by the remote control signal reception part 23 after the power source is turned on for the 1st time by comparing it with the stored information in the memory part 24 and then setting such that only subsequent remote signals having the determined format are received.
