<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently take out heat from a thermal storage tank in a thermal storage apparatus adapted to store heat of a heat source side in the thermal storage tank and to efficiently supply the heat stored in the thermal storage tank to a user side. <P>SOLUTION: In this thermal storage apparatus, the flow of water can be switched so that at the time of thermal storage to a thermal storage material 5, water of a thermal storage side heat exchanger 22 flows from the top to the bottom, and at the time of using storage heat of the thermal storage material, water of the thermal storage side heat exchanger 22 flows from the bottom to the top.
