PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector having sensitivity vastly improved as compared with conventional devices so as to enable measurement from environmental levels and having weight reduced so as to enhance convenience when it is carried and used. SOLUTION: This radiation detector is equipped with a liquid scintillator 11 used for intermediate neutron measurement and intermediate neutron thermalization, and a glass scintillator 12 for measuring intermediate neutrons thermalized by the scintillator 11. The scintillator 12 also serves as a container for the scintillator 11. The container is provided with a volume buffer sealing structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
