PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To possibly suppress the disturbance in an output sound/image in a vehicle digital broadcast receiver and lessen a sense of incongruity given to vehicle passengers due to switching of the hierarchy of information to be outputted. SOLUTION: A parking brake switch for outputting a signal according to the operation of a parking brake is connected to a receiver for receiving digital broadcast waves of the same sound information and the same image information hierarchically transmitted, using high-quality and low-quality hierarchies different in deterioration resistance. This enables the receiver to discriminate between the run and stop of a vehicle, based on the operation of the parking brake. The receiver always selects sound information with the low-quality hierarchy to make sounds, but, when the vehicle is running, image information with the high-quality hierarchy having a high deterioration resistance to make images and, at the vehicle stop, information with the high-quality hierarchy having a low deterioration resistance.
