摘要 PURPOSE: An EDFA(Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) using a unified complex passive device is provided to minimize a size of an optical fiber amplifier by forming an optical tap, an optical focus lens, a circulator core, and a WDM coupler with one element. CONSTITUTION: An EDFA using a unified complex passive device includes a first focus lens(304), a first optical tap(306), a circulator core(308), a WDM coupler(310), a second focus lens(312), an optical fiber(314), a mirror(316), a third focus lens(322), and a second optical tap(320). The first focus lens(304) is connected to an input optical fiber in order to focus optical signals. The first optical tap(306) transfers the optical signals to the circulator core(308). The circulator core is connected to the first optical tap and the WDM coupler. The WDM coupler(310) is used for transmitting the optical signal of the circulator core and reflecting the optical signal of a pump laser diode. The second focus lens(312) is used for focusing the reflected optical signals of the WDM coupler. The optical fiber(314) is used for amplifying the inputted optical signals. The mirror(316) is used for amplifying the amplified signals of the optical fiber. The third focus lens(322) is used for focusing the optical signals of the mirror. The second optical tap(320) is used for transmitting the optical signals of the third focus lens to an output optical fiber and an output monitoring optical fiber.
