A revolving type thread winder for winding thread by switching a bobbin 6 installed on one bobbin holder to a bobbin installed on the other bobbin holder when the thread wound on the bobbin 6 reaches a specified volume, wherein turret tables 3, 3' are disposed on both sides of a thread route, the rotating directions of both turret tables are opposed to each other to reverse the rotating directions of the press-fitted rollers 9, 9' installed on the turret tables to each other, the press-fitted rollers and a traverse device are positioned on the upper side of the rotating centers of the turret tables, the thread arresting groove 6a of the bobbin installed on one turret table is located at the bottom sides of the bobbin holders 4, 4', 5, 5' and the thread arresting groove of the bobbin installed on the other turret table is positioned on the front side of the bobbin holder, and thread hitching members 12, 12', 15, 15' for thread hitching are installed in the thread arresting grooves to increase a space efficiency.
