The cell includes a cylindrical casing (12) provided with a pair of opposed first and second end walls. A spirally wound electrode assembly (30) is provided inside the casing. The electrode assembly includes an anode (32), a cathode (34) and an intermediate separator (36). The electrode assembly is extended along the longitudinal axis of the casing. A support member supports one of the first and second ends of the electrode assembly. A wave spring (52) is located between the support member and corresponding one of the first and second end walls of the casing.
