The fuel injector has a housing (4) screwed to a transition element (5) between the housing and an injection jet (2), an axial bore (6) of the housing containing an insert (7) provided with a control element (8) and pressed against the transfer element for providing a sealing surface for a coupling channel via a support sleeve around the insert, which is loaded beyond its deformation limit in its assembled condition.
