The invention relates to a catalytic composition comprising two, or possibly three, catalysts which can be used in the treatment of exhaust gases from, for example, lean-burn engines. The inventive composition is characterised in that it consists of: a first catalyst comprising at least one precious metal on a support which is based on cerium oxide, titanium oxide or a mixture of zirconium oxide and titanium oxide; a second NOx trap catalyst; and, optionally, a third catalyst having at least one NOx reduction function.
