The invention relates to an assembly of identical structural elements (1), wherein each structural element is dome-shaped, has four supporting legs (5) and four arches (8) in each case linking adjoining supporting legs, the outward-facing arch edges of which arches are so shaped that they are able to overlap and preferably are able to snap into outward-facing arch edge of an identical structural element. The assembly according to the invention comprises at least two continuous layers of structural elements joined to one another per layer via their arch edges. In particular, the supporting legs of one layer and the other layer will be oriented in opposing directions. The present invention furthermore relates to the use of such an assembly as a filler body in a dyke or road embankment or in order to obtain a storage chamber for heat or cold.
