An arrangement for a motor vehicle comprises retardation sensor (36), a light (34) giving a warning signal and a system to operate the light having a predetermined frequency generator (32) controlled by the sensor. The light frequency is synchronized with that of the motor vehicle flashing indicator. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a device as above combined with a warning flasher arrangement; and (b) a retardation sensor as above having a sensor to detect the position of a sphere in a hollow tube.
