摘要 |

A novel cDNA clone K is isolated as encoding a polypeptide antigen, which has never been known so far, being recognized by an antibody contained in the serum of patients with chronic non-B, non-C hepatitis or acute non-A, non-B, non-C, non-D, non-E, non-F (hereinafter referred to as non-A to G) hepatitis and its characteristics are discussed. Hepatitis relating to the anti-K polypeptide antibody contained in patients’ serum is seemingly needed for prevention. An RNA sequence corresponding to the clone K is contained in nucleic acids of exogenous infections pathogens other than hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, hepatitis D virus, hepatitis E virus and hepatitis G virus. It might represent an additional epidemiological causative factor in the progress of non-A to G hepatitis in humans or a factor relating thereto. The polypeptide corresponding to the nucleic acid K and variants thereof would be useful in a series of means aiming at preventing, diagnosing and treating non-A to G hepatitis.
|
