The invention relates to a tool connection (3) for transferring a rotational motion from a tool shank (2) to a tool head (1). The aim of the invention is to enable tool heads with a precise predetermined seat to be connected, in a manner that enables them to be easily exchanged, to a tool shaft in order to effect a secure tool connection with the best possible true running. To this end, mating surfaces (4, 5), which correspond to one another in the form of a mating cone, of the tool shank and tool head are formed by complementary profilings (10, 11) each having an at least essentially rectangular cross-section. These profilings are provided in the tool shank or on the tool head while spirally encircling the same.
