The blade (1) includes a tubular section (2) and is made from a single piece of titanium alloy. An ice skate blade, especially for competitive speed skating, includes an integral tube made by drawing a piece of metal comprising a titanium alloy of the Ti-6Al-1.5Mo-2V-2Zr type or a similar material. An Independent claim is also included for a method for making the blade, in which the blade is cut from a sheet of the alloy material, then bent into the tubular shape and then a length direction weld is formed between the tube and blade.
