Ball (10) of wound material (12) comprises a suspending device (16) consisting of a string-, band-, wire-, monofilament- or chain-like material or a molded part which, on formation of a free loop (18) or a suspending eyelet in the middle part, is held tightly at both ends (20, 22) in a non-slip manner between the outer side of the ball and a shrink-wrapped protective foil (24). Preferred Features: The two ends of the suspending device run in the axial direction of the ball. The suspending device is made from the end piece of the wound material.
