<p>The escalator (10) has a sensor (30) which is formed as a movement sensor, especially radar sensor which activates the escalator. The radar sensor is arranged underneath the hand rails (18,20) and has an entry cone (32) which exceeds the area in front of the balustrade head (22) by at least a meter. The entry cone is adjustable and is preferably a distance of 1.5 to 3 meters in front of the balustrade head. The entry cone extends at an angle of at least 5 degrees, especially about 15 degrees, and is upwardly inclined.</p> |
