Disclosed are a crown segment (6) and a crown for the electric connecting device of an electrode, particularly an electrode of an electrometallurgical furnace, comprising a recess which is provided with a pressing means acting on a contact plate so as to press said contact plate against the electrode. Said pressing means (10) comprises a movable supporting body (14) having a front face (15a) which presses against said contact plate (2) and is provided with an external surface (21) moving along an external wall of the recess (8) at a short distance from said wall. The fixed part (11) of the pressing means (10) rests against the bottom of the recess (8) and has at least one lateral recess (33) receiving a holding body (31). The pressing means (10) comprises a fixed part (11) and a movable part (14) which is provided with a face plate (15) pressing against the contact plate and an annular ring (21) that is fixed to said face plate and is mounted in the recess (8) such that said annular ring (21) moves along an outside wall of the recess at a short distance from said wall.
